Tanzania and Uganda have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vitol Bahrain EC to transform the Port of Tanga into a regional energy hub.
The agreement, signed on August 6, 2026, is expected to unlock more than $20 billion in investment, positioning Tanga as a major petroleum processing, storage, and trading centre serving the wider East African market.
