Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) has reported a 13.1% increase in net profit to KSh.11.58 billion for the financial year ended June 2026, supported by higher petroleum volumes and improved operational efficiency.
The company’s revenue rose 9% to KSh43 billion from KSh39.5 billion in the previous financial year, while shareholders’ equity increased 11% to KSh119.3 billion.
KPC’s results, released on Wednesday, October 14, mark its first full-year performance since its partial privatisation and listing on the Nairobi Securities Exchange earlier this year.
The board approved a first and final dividend of KSh5.9 billion, equivalent to KSh0.32 per ordinary share, giving investors a payout following the company’s market debut.
Acting Managing Director Pius Mwendwa attributed the growth to a 7% increase in local and transit petroleum volumes, operational efficiency and stronger cash generation.
“Despite a difficult operating environment characterised by global petroleum prices and supply volatility due to the Middle East crisis, KPC Plc has managed to grow its top line and bottom line while improving operating cost efficiencies,” Mwendwa said.
The company also strengthened its balance sheet and cash generated from operating activities rose 34% to KSh17.39 billion, while cash and cash equivalents increased 84.4% to KSh20.54 billion.
Borrowings fell 83% to KSh442.86 million following debt repayments.
KPC 2030 revenue target
KPC is targeting annual revenue of KSh68 billion by 2030 as it seeks to diversify beyond petroleum transportation and storage.
Its expansion plans include petroleum trading, re-exports, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), biofuels and power generation.
Chairperson Faith Bett-Boinett said the company intends to use its infrastructure to meet rising regional energy demand and develop new revenue streams.
One of the proposed projects is a petroleum trading hub at the Kenya Petroleum Refineries Limited facilities in Kipevu, Mombasa. The facility is expected to support transhipment, bulk-breaking, bunkering and re-export services to regional markets.
KPC is also pursuing regional expansion through plans to extend its pipeline from Eldoret to Kampala, Uganda, and eventually Kigali, Rwanda.
The company’s total assets rose 6 per cent to KSh149 billion during the year, while profit before tax stood at KSh17.54 billion.
The share register will close on November 30, 2026, according to the results.
